Brill's New Pauly: "Diotimus of Athens, poet of epigrams, Epigrammatic
poet of the ‘Garland’ of Meleager (Anth. Pal. 4,1,27), author of at least seven poems (in
addition, 7,173 is disputed, and 9,391 as well as 16,158 are not certain, as they could also
belong to D. [5] of Miletus). These are votive epigrams (6,267

733), traditional in their choice of subject, but well executed. Not
too much credence should be given to the lemma Διοτίμου Ἀθηναίου τοῦ Διοπείθους (‘by the
Athenian Diotimus, son of Diopeithes’), found in poem 7,420 in rasura (presumably this refers
to the famous triarchos, a contemporary of Demosthenes)
more likely is a confusion with D.
[7] of Adramyttium, grammarian and poet, who lived in the first half of the 3rd cent. (cf.
