Brill's New Pauly: "Writer of epigrams, to whom the Anthologia Palatina ascribes a love poem (Anth. Pal. 5,49) that, by virtue of its style and vocabulary (though not because of its obscene tone), appears to belong to the ‘Garland’ of Philip, and also an ecphrastic epigram, a polished description of a Tantalus figure on a cup (16,89). In the first case the lemmatist added a τοῦ δικαίου to Γάλλου
that probably conceals the nomen gentile Tudicius (cf. Cic. Clu. 70) ─ but it is not evidence that it is the same writer. As author or addressee of the second epigram, Cornelius [II 18] Gallus (Virgil's friend, who committed suicide in 26 BC) has been suggested...."
