Brill's New Pauly: "Callinicus, 2, Rhetor, According to the Suda, he was
a rival of Genethlius (Suda s.v. Γενέθλιος) and taught rhetoric in Athens (comp. Lib. Vita
1.11). He wrote ‘enkomia and orations’ (cf. Menander Rhetor 386, 30 Sp. for an epibatḗrios),
namely a treatise Περὶ τῆς Ῥωμαίων ἀνανεώσεως (‘On the Revival of the Romans’)...." from
