taking part in the conversations as a poet (Mor. 156f), contemporary and close friend of Periander, tyrant of Corinth
(end of the 7th/beginning 6th cent. BC). Two hexameters by the poet (Paus. 9,38,9), in which the city's hero Aspledon
is described as the son of Poseidon and Midea, are supposed to attest to the accuracy of local tradition in the Boeotian city of the same name...."
